What Enterprise Leaders Can About Agentic Execution

There is no shortage of conversation about artificial intelligence. Every week brings a new tool, a new announcement or another prediction about how AI will change the workplace. What businesses really need, however, is less hype and more practical guidance on how AI can deliver measurable results.

That was the focus of AI in Enterprise: From Strategy to Agentic Execution, a Fliweel.tech event hosted in partnership with techUK, where 90+ senior executives from across the technology sector came together to share how organisations are successfully putting AI into practice.

Andy Paul, CEO of Fliweel.tech spoke about one of the most exciting developments in enterprise AI today, AI Agents in Action. Rather than simply answering questions, AI agents can support real business processes by retrieving information, completing routine tasks and helping employees make faster, more informed decisions. The key message was simple. AI delivers the greatest value when it is designed around real business needs rather than implemented simply because the technology exists.

Turning Strategy into Action

Many organisations already have an AI strategy. The challenge is moving beyond experimentation and building solutions that people genuinely trust and use every day.

Throughout the event, one theme kept resurfacing. Successful AI projects begin with understanding a business problem first. Technology comes second.

Whether it is reducing administration, improving customer service or helping employees find information more quickly, the best AI solutions solve specific challenges instead of trying to do everything at once.

That philosophy sits at the heart of Fliweel.tech’s approach. AI should support people, not replace them. It should remove repetitive work, improve consistency and give teams more time to focus on higher value activities.

AI Agents only succeed when they have the Right Foundations

During his session, Andy explored how AI agents are changing the way businesses operate.

Unlike traditional chatbots that simply respond to prompts, AI agents can complete sequences of tasks, work across multiple systems and help automate business processes. They have enormous potential, but only when they are built with trusted information, clear objectives and appropriate governance.

Without those foundations, even the most advanced AI model can produce answers that sound convincing but cannot always be relied upon.

That point was reinforced by one of the strongest case studies of the day.

The AskECA Case Study

One of the event highlights came from Daniel Bailey, Director of Digital at Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA).

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, ECA is the UK’s largest trade association representing the electrotechnical and engineering services industry. The organisation supports almost 3,000 member businesses, representing a combined annual turnover of more than £6 billion.

Daniel shared how ECA developed “AskECA”, an AI assistant chatbot trained using more than 70 technical proprietary documents. The AI-powered chatbot was developed to show how it could be used during live member helpline calls, helping advisers locate trusted technical information in seconds.

What made the project particularly interesting was the decision to keep the assistant retrieval based rather than allowing unrestricted AI generated responses.

During testing, the team found that when complex engineering questions pushed beyond the available source material, the AI became more likely to hallucinate. By restricting the system to approved documentation, ECA ensured members received accurate information drawn directly from trusted technical guidance.

Daniel made an observation that resonated throughout the room. “AI really wants to please you. Repeated questioning eventually breaks guardrails.”

It was a reminder that successful AI is not about producing the most impressive answers. It is about producing the most reliable ones.

A Trusted Partnership built on Responsible AI

The AskECA project is particularly significant for Fliweel.tech because ECA is also participating in our Trusted AI Partner programme.

This twelve month AI transformation programme helps organisations identify where AI can deliver genuine business value, implement solutions responsibly and build the internal capability needed for long term success.

Rather than introducing AI through isolated pilots, the programme focuses on creating sustainable change. That includes identifying high impact opportunities, developing AI use cases, establishing governance, training teams and embedding AI into everyday operations.

The AskECA project demonstrates exactly what that journey can look like. It starts with a clear business challenge, builds on trusted knowledge and delivers measurable value for both employees and members.

What Businesses can Learn

One of the biggest takeaways from the event was that enterprise AI is becoming less about technology and more about business transformation.

The organisations making the greatest progress are not necessarily using the newest models. They are the ones asking better questions.

  • Where do employees lose time?
  • Which processes are repetitive?
  • What knowledge already exists inside the organisation but is difficult to access?
  • How can AI support people without introducing unnecessary risk?

Answering those questions creates opportunities for AI that are practical, measurable and trusted.

As AI continues to evolve, conversations around governance, security and accountability will become even more important. techUK’s work on trusted and responsible AI adoption highlights why organisations must balance innovation with strong governance if they want AI to deliver long term value.

Looking Ahead

The conversations at techUK made one thing clear. Businesses are moving beyond asking whether they should adopt AI. The focus has shifted to implementing AI responsibly and ensuring it creates meaningful outcomes for employees, customers and stakeholders.

At Fliweel.tech, that is exactly what we help organisations achieve.

Whether it is introducing AI agents into everyday workflows, improving access to internal knowledge or building a long term AI transformation strategy, success comes from understanding the business first and applying the technology with purpose.

The future of enterprise AI is not about replacing people. It is about helping people work smarter with trusted AI solutions that solve real business challenges.
